She’s a young and upcoming Los Angeles female artist with amazing talent on the guitar and a drive to succeed that is truly inspiring. Kristen demonstrates a level of technical skill and musical maturity that seems to be beyond her age.
— Jeremy Fader, director of original programming at VEVO

It was her performance as a guest guitarist with Keith Urban in 2010 that introduced her to Country and Americana music which led to her move to Nashville, TN. From Metal to Americana music, Kristen Castro, an Indie Artist, crosses all genres. Castro is a singer/songwriter,  multi-instrumentalist and producer, originally from Simi Valley, CA. Throughout her career she has maintained partnerships with Taylor Guitars, Elixir Strings and Timber Tones. In 2012, she was featured as a guitarist and songwriter on VEVO’s “You Play Like a Girl.”

As a former founding member of Maybe April, she has traveled and performed throughout the U.S. and has appeared on a variety of publications including Billboard, CMT, and Audiotree. Through the GRAMMY Foundation she has collaborated with will.i.am and Brandi Carlile. Her trio shared the stage with music icons: Bonnie Raitt and Kris Kristofferson, played Pilgrimage Festival, IBMA, Folk Alliance, and opened for Brandy Clark and Sarah Jarosz.  Now as a solo artist her love for all things music pushes her to transcend all sorts of barriers through music.
